You may have (hopefully) noticed that I’ve been missing for the past few months! For those of you who follow me on social media, you also have probably noticed that relocating to New York has kept me pretty busy! I’m finally feeling a bit more settled and able to get back to things that I enjoy and make me happy, like writing and keeping up my blog! Of course, a little break for the holidays helps too!
I’ve been trying to make the most of the city that never sleeps…which means I’ve been doing a whole lot of eating and drinking my way through Manhattan. I have tons of new restaurants, bars and cocktails to review, as well as a few shopping secrets!
Stay tuned and in the meantime here are some ways I’ve been spending my time.
I picked up a few really stellar pieces last week during Ann Taylor’s Friends and Family 40 percent off sale. I had been eying these booties since the day they were released and found myself stuck in a downpour sans umbrella, serendipitously in front of an Ann Taylor. Ok, weather gods, I’m listening. Into the store I went!
I only had a few minutes (and the rain was slowing down), so I grabbed a few tops without trying them on and of course, the shoes! However, I kept noticing all of the adorable dresses scattered throughout the store. Without time to try anything on, I didn’t bother to give them the time of day. Until Ann Taylor decided to announce a flash sale on select dresses for $69.50. Many of their dresses are $120 and up, so there are some great savings to be had!
Like it.
Stripes and peplum make for a perfect pair. This dress is incredibly versatile and would transition flawlessly from work to cocktails or even a dinner date. Not to mention it can be worn year round: in summer with sandals, in fall with booties and a blazer, in winter with tights and boots and in spring with a bold colored shoe!
Love it.
The silhouette of this dress is preciously feminine, but the bold, graphic black and white print keeps it from being too sweet. It is a great dress for a night out or even dressed up for a more casual wedding a bright red lip and a topknot.
Buying it.
Moving from a casual to a more business casual office environment has lead me to look for staple pieces that are multifunctional. This dress fits the bill. The sea kelp color (not pictured) is a gorgeous, subdued green that can act as a neutral without being too boring. It has endless styling possibilities and, as much as I heart summer, it is making me quite excited for fall fashion!
Ladies, if you haven’t been alerted to the Kate Spade Surprise Sale yet, I’m about to ruin your productivity for the afternoon. And no, I’m not sorry but you will be if you don’t check it out now!
There are some crazy deals happening and if you’re an avid Kate Spadeaddict fan like yours truly, then this sale is more exciting than Ryan Gosling without his shirt on. Ok, almost as exciting.
I’ve included some of my favorite finds below. You might be wondering why the heck I chose a baby bag considering I’m childless, but let me tell you. I have a similar bag from the Kate Spade Outlet and it is by far the best work bag I’ve ever owned. I use it every day and am able to comfortably fit and carry everything I could ever need, including my gym clothes. After all, isn’t that what baby bags are intended for – carrying anything and everything? My anything and everything just doesn’t involve any children.
I ordered the black and white Kingsbury Park Catalina bag. A friend has it and raves about it, so I thought I shouldn’t pass it up considering we live in different states now! I can’ t wait until it gets here! Hurry up and shop before the sale is over tonight at midnight!
